... and a dynamic cast and orchestra, totalling over 150 people!!

This musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice explores the life of one of the most influential women of the 20th Century, Eva Peron, wife of former Argentine dictator, Juan Peron. The production begins with the young ambitious Eva and follows her methodic rise to wealth and power of the dynamic, larger-than-life persona of Evita. The story deals with the political situations, power relationships and the means by which Eva Peron became the beloved Evita, achieving psuedo-sainthood in her homeland.

Beothuck Street's Production was an amazing success!! We sold-out all five performances at the Arts and Culture Centre ... two weeks in advance (an achievement in Newfoundland where no one buys tickets that far in advance ... especially for theatre! :)   It has been a wonderful experience to bring so many people together (over 150 performers), with varying degrees of experience and in a 6-week rehearsal period, produce a dynamic, first-rate show. The feedback has been fabulous!

Praise for Evita (from our guestbook):

"Super Show! EVITA - very professional and tight." - Gloria, St. John's

"I had to drop a line and tell you how thrilled I was with your presentation of "Evita". I am still raving about it. It was, by far, the most amazing production I have ever seen. I had goosebumps the whole time and shed a few tears as well. Never has a production affected me so much. I was a huge fan of the musical before I saw your performance but now I think it is my all time favorite." - Kym, St. John's

"I am sooooo disappointed!. I wanted to see the Evita show but it's all sold out. Is there any chance of some encore performances down the road? I know that I'm not the only disappointed soul who would love to see it!" - Alison, St. John's
