In the wake of the group's award-winning production of The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Beothuck Street presents another play in the Leenane Trilogy by Martin McDonagh – The Lonesome West. All three plays are set in a small village in Connemara which is full of rumours, gossip, grudges, spite, murder, jealousy, evil mothers, bored daughters, warring brothers, irreverent grave diggers, odd-ball guards and belligerent neighbours! McDonagh's great strength is that he combines a love of traditional story-telling with the savage ironic humour of the modern generation.

In the extraordinary The Lonesome West, two brothers are closeted together in undying hostility like a penned-up Cain and Abel.  Only Father Welsh, the local young priest, is prepared to try to reconcile the two before their petty squabblings spiral out of control. But even he soon realizes, God Himself seems to have no jurisdiction in this town.
