Directed by Janet O'Reilly, our Winter production this year will be "The Real Thing" by Tom Stoppard. The Real Thing is about marriage and writing, emotional fidelity and intellectual integrity, high art and pop culture. Tom Stoppard is an esteemed British playwright who has written teleplays and many screenplays for a wide and eclectic group of world-class directors like Spielberg. A prolific writer, he has penned such works as "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead" for the stage (which along with "The Real Thing" won Tony Awards for Best Play). For the big screen, he co-wrote "Shakespeare in Love" as well as the screenplay for "Empire of the Sun". |
