Tom Stoppard is an esteemed British playwright who has written teleplays and many screenplays for a wide and eclectic group of world-class directors like Spielberg. A prolific writer, he has penned such works as "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead" for the stage (which along with "The Real Thing" won Tony Awards for Best Play). For the big screen, he co-wrote "Shakespeare in Love" as well as the screenplay for "Empire of the Sun".
